statement

Held at the Bayan Palace theatre in presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Bayan Palace Show is an annual event involving 1.400 singing and dancing Kuwaiti children. The 2014 storyline was built around the dramatic and powerful history of the Kuwaiti people, and its bonds with its neighbors and allies.

The set design was inspired by the minimalism of the islamic architecture and patterns of I.M. Pei’s Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar. The simplicity of the volumes was translated into five triangular podiums, and the patterns revisited in a laser cut material.

A cutting-edge kinetic light sculpture was set above the stage and over the audience, displaying different positions, color palettes and intensities on every scene, in a delicate aerial choreography.
