statement
A light art installation on the Avenue des Champs Elysées in Paris created for Christmas 2011-2013. A set of three horizontal rings encircle every other tree of the famous Avenue, from the Place de la Concorde all the way to the Arc de Triomphe.
The rings support a set of programmable RGB LED strips, allowing to create breathtaking lighting effects on each tree and throughout the 2,2 Km long avenue.
Because they are set off-center, the rings display different profiles as the visitor passes by. The outside of the ring is displaying a glow of light while the inside LED strip lights up the tree itself. Mirror discs hanging on the branches of the tree will reflect the light rays in all directions as they move freely in the wind.
